Specs
Before we get to the heart of things we have to talk about basic information about these two strollers to get a good grip on them and how they compare to teach others. The
Uppababy Cruz V2 is an updated version of the
Uppababy Cruz, a much beloved classic stroller. The Uppababy Cruz clocks in at a much higher weight of 25.5 lbs. The weight capacity has not changed and is still newborn compatible with the use of a bassinet or snug seat (sold separately). The
Bugaboo Bee5 has a lower weight of 19.6 lbs but with the lower weight comes a lower weight capacity of 37.5 lbs. Both strollers have the capacity of holding two children with each brand having a perspective toddler board where an older child can stand and ride along a board attached to the back of the stroller. For Bugaboo it is a comfort wheel board and for Uppababy it is called Piggyback.
Handlebar
Both handlebars are extendable and perfect for any height. The Bee has a little bit of a higher handlebar but they are both extendable and can accommodate taller parents.
Canopy
The
Bee5 canopy is 3 panels and has UPF 50+ protection. The canopy is expandable so it does a really good job of protecting your child from the harmful sun rays. The
Cruz V2 has a beautiful extendable canopy with peekaboo windows. It also has UPF 50+ protection and is very spacious.
Seats
For strollers who look vastly different they both have the distinctive mark of good quality as both seats are comfortable and safe.
Bugaboo Bee5 has a very roomy seat with the seat being 14″ wide and with 18″ seat back that can adjust to 21″. The seat depth is adjustable and can go from 11″ deep up to 15″ deep. This seat is able to accommodate taller kids and can be used from birth up to 37.5 lbs which is a huge draw for parents. The seat is reversible and 3 recline positions. It has a 5 point harness for safety. The only down side of the harness is the shoulder straps are not attached to the waist straps so you will need to lock each strap separately but this also means you know your child is 100% secure. The
Uppababy Cruz V2 is not slacking when it comes to the seat department either! The
Uppababy Cruz V2 has a 5 position one hand recline with a secure 5 point harness. The new updated
Cruz V2 has a full-size, reversible toddler seat with higher back, longer leg rest, and deeper foot rest for added comfort and safety for your little one.
Storage
Storage is a parents best friend! The Bee5 storage basket holds 8.8 lbs and is extremely easy to access. The underseat basket on the Cruz V2 is larger and can now hold up to 30 lbs. It is important to note that the Bee5 is a lighter stroller therefore has a smaller storage than the full size cruz.
Wheels
The Bee5 wheels are 6″ and the front wheels swivel and lock. The wheels are made out of hard rubber and have all wheels suspension. The Cruz V2 has patent-pending, dual-action suspension paired with rear suspension. They’ve enlarged the wheel size for the new 2020 Cruz stroller to larger front and rear tires, making it easier to push over rough terrain. They both have easy foot brakes to stop in a dime.
Fold
Both have really easy folds! The Cruz V2 has a two hand easy compact fold and stands when folded! The Bee5 has a small 2 handed fold.
Price
The Bugaboo Bee5 retails starting at $699 while the Uppababy Cruz V2 retails for $649.99. The Bee5 is more of a lightweight full stroller while the Cruz is a true full size stroller.
