We're in for the Long Haul!
Yeh, summer’s just about over… And while we would love to stay in the sun and spend quality family time together, we don’t want to be hit hard when reality comes knocking.
How do I handle this transition? For me it’s all about organization, particularly for the kids, so that I can eliminate some of the hectic morning chaos. It’s all about getting the baby ready for daycare.
I love lists! First, I made a checklist of all the one-time purchases of daycare essentials and tasks that I will need to do for the kids.
Here’s what it looks like:
Next, I made a checklist of all items I will need to do on a daily basis for the kids.
This is what I have hanging on my memo board in my kitchen:
- Fill bottles
- Prepare food
- Pack diaper bag/backpack
- Emergency contact info
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Diaper Cream/Powder
- Change of clothes
- Blanket
- Pacifiers
- 1 attached to the shirt
- 1 extra in the bag (and usually in my pocketbook too!)
I use this method in all areas of organization. I even try to encourage my husband to use it too, but you know how that is.
Please share your own organization tips and tools with all of us.
Enjoy the holiday weekend!
