Here it is Ladies and Gentlemen (and babies) the moment you’ve all been waiting for… It is Cloth Diaper Challenge time! Five women (including yours truly) have been selected to dive straight into the deep end of cloth diapering for 30 days – and write about it! Allow me to introduce you to the participants.

A'maaliDanielle is the mom of our youngest participant, A’maali. She is only 3 months old! Danielle and A’maali live a Vegan lifestyle in Washington, D.C.

RemSierra and her 4 month old son, Rem, live in Texas where Daddy is a real cowboy!

IndyChelsea is a stay at home mom of two kids in Oklahoma. Her youngest daughter, Indy, is 8 months old.

MacDiaperNichole and her 8 month old son, Mac, just relocated to Indiana to be closer to family.

Luke DiaperMy name is Lindsey and I am one of the Baby Gear Experts here at PishPoshBaby. My family and I live in Atlanta and my youngest, Luke, is 14 months old - oldest member of the challenge! Write me at Lindsey@pishposhbaby.com

As you can see we selected boys and girls of all ages to get the best idea of cloth diapering for everyone! We have all been given 16 Rumparooz Cloth Pocket Diapers (coming soon to PishPoshBaby,) an Ubbi Diaper Pail, an Ubbi Cloth Diaper Pail Liner, and a Skip Hop Wet/Dry Bag. The babies participating range from 3-14 months old and the Rumparooz diapers are truly one size fits all! The different snap sizes and soft elastic guarantee a perfect fit for any baby. I will be posting weekly updates, tips, and pictures from all of the participants. Our goal is for this Cloth Diaper Challenge to help #makeclothmainstream because of the many benefits! Estimates show that disposable diaper products cost around $2,500 per child. The upfront cost of cloth diapers may seem scary but you can get everything you need for around $500 and even use the products for multiple kids! Cloth diapers WILL save you money! Obviously, cloth diapering is SO much better for our planet. The Environmental Protection Agency reports that about 20 billion disposable diapers are dumped in landfills each year, accounting for more than 3.5 million tons of waste. Our landfills are not designed to handle human waste and the diaper itself takes 500 years to completely decompose (YUCK!) Of course our favorite benefit of cloth diapering is because it is just SO CUTE! We are all very excited to get started and we can’t wait to see what you think! Leave us a comment and look for a new post next week and remember, we’re moms… we get it!
