What does CPST stand for? (Hint: It's Baby Safety-related)

Posted in #news

Baby Safety Month is the perfect time to make sure your car seat is installed correctly. Choosing and using the right car seat is important, but what’s also imperative is to make sure the car seat is installed properly. Car crashes are one of the leading causes of death in children today

Back in May of 2019, a few of our amazing Baby Gear Experts decided that it was time to officially become Child Passenger Safety Technicians. At this point, nearly all of our baby gear experts have CPST certification, and can install your car seat for you so that you can be assured your child is safely seated for the ride! They’re also able to show you the ropes, so that you can install the car seat properly on your own time when needed.

According to the NHTSA, 60% of parents find car seat installation at least somewhat frustrating, which is no surprise given that nearly half of parents have installed their car seats incorrectly — and that’s a serious safety hazard.

A CPST has undergone rigorous training at the CPST training course, learning loads of information about different types of car seats, latches, and more, all leading up to proper car seat installation. The CPS training course is a 4 day course that takes 30+ hours to complete.

Your baby’s safety is priceless, and we know that. If your baby is ready for a new car seat and you want to make sure it's installed right, don’t hesitate to ask one of our Certified Passenger Safety Technicians to help you out! Wondering how much it costs to have your car seat installed by a CPST? It won't cost you anything. Our gift to you - this month, and always!
